About Vitola
Born on the lounge floor, not in a boardroom.
We ran cigar lounges before we wrote software for them. Vitola exists because nothing on the market understood the humidor, the locker wall, or the regular in chair four.
Every cigar lounge owner knows the stack: a generic retail POS that chokes on box splits, a notebook for locker members, a whiteboard for tabs, and a spreadsheet that turns tobacco tax season into a lost weekend.
We know because that stack was ours. Vitola started as an internal tool for two lounges, written between shifts, tested by our own staff, and shaped by the regulars who sat with us every night.
Today Vitola runs counters across the country, but the rule hasn't changed: if a feature doesn't make sense on the lounge floor, it doesn't ship.

Every feature starts as a real problem from a real lounge floor. If it doesn't help the counter or the chair, it doesn't ship.

2019
The notebook problem
Our founding team, then running two lounges, hits the wall: a retail POS for the register, a spiral notebook for lockers, and a spreadsheet for tobacco tax.
2021
Vitola v1 at the counter
The first build goes live in our own lounges. Live bin counts, member tabs, and license scanning in one screen.
2023
Word of mouth
Twenty lounges become a hundred and twenty, almost entirely by referral between owners at trade shows and herf nights.
2026
The lounge standard
Vitola runs counters across the country and keeps shipping features that only make sense if you smell of cedar.
